Submissions for the International Journal of Human-Computer Studies:
we had several expressions of interest to submit papers.
We will accept
for publication eight papers at most.

Participation of SID to the COST298 Conference which will be held in
Copenhagen on may 13-15, 2009.
This comes right before ICAD (may 17-22
with core ICAD on 18-21). We have been asked by COST298 coordinator
Bartolomeo Sapio to organize a SID session as part of this
Conference
on "The user and the future of information and communication
technologies". Roberto Bresin agreed to present the SAME project
(SOUND AND MUSIC
FOR EVERYONE EVERYDAY EVERYWHERE EVERY WAY). Stefania
Serafin also agreed to make a presentation (about medialogy?). Other
possible speakers could be
Karmen Franinovic (on design) and Thomas
Hermann (on SID?).

MC + Workshop in York on april 2009: we should contact Sandra Pauletto
to set the dates and
content of these two days in York. A good week
(for the Action coordinator) would be april 13-17.

Connections with industries: some of the industry people invited to
the MC meeting in Jyväskylä did not reply yet. We would like to invite
some more.
The Swedish delegate Björn Hellström could give a talk or
suggest someone. Later, he was contacted but he aswered that he can
not come to Jyväskylä.
He has promised to look for a possibiel speaker
in his company, http://www.ingemansson.se/. Frauke Behrendt suggested a
person from Volvo. After further
investigations she recommended David
Froehlich. We could also ask Michal Rinott for possible
recommendations.

Artistic productions: this is something to be
 exploited in the second
half of the Action. The idea we agreed on is to promote one big
production, possibly connected with an important festival, such as
Ars
Electronica for example. We may approach Golan Levin for this
purpose. The Action may provide assistants through STSMs. Towards the
end of the Action,
a call for artistic works will be launched, and the
selected pieces will be exhibited. At the meeting in Jyväskylä we
will
decide who is responsible to find and fix the exhibition space and
time for final year exhibition. This needs to be done now, as
exhibition spaces plan
far ahead.

Workshop on vocal sketching for sonic interaction design: Michal
Rinott agreed to host such workshop, accompanied by an MC meeting, in

Tel Aviv in november 2009. So, we propose to move the WG2 meeting
(originally planned in Tel Aviv in november 2008) to september 18 in
Jyväskylä.

Book :
.It is essential to get in touch with the publisher (Wiley has
so far shown interest) and finalize the book structure.

     .
A precise timeline needs to be prepared, containing dates for
the first draft, second draft, final draft, publication date and
     so on.

     .
The book should contain about 8 chapters of 25-30 pages each,
plus a second part with applications and case studies of 2 pages
     each.  In this way
the authors will be challenged to write a more
complete document which covers the specifically assigned area of
SID more broadly.  This is obviously
 challenging but will provide
a higher impact and more useful book.

.The editors should ensure consistency and coherence in the
     content of the
chapters and be strict in our demands.

Collaborations among working groups:

WG Ambassadors: Each working group should have one member
     responsible
for bibliography, evaluation, examples, web. These WG
ambassadors are to be selected at the next WG meeting. Each of
     these four groups of WG
ambassadors should meet at each MC
meeting to synchronise. The attached descriptions will be passed
on to the WGs.  About the inclusion of new WG
members, it is
proposed that new WG members will be added only by invitation to
some meetings. People who want to attend WG meetings at their own

expenses can do it, provided that the WG approves.

Web:

     - shrink banner
     - page of links to relevant blogs

Possible experts
to be invited to York: Tony Stockman and Christopher
Frauenberger. It would be nice to have a short tutorial on design
patterns, with the possible
participation of Stephen Barrass (who will
be in Europe for sabbatical).

collect and maintain an annotated list of publications. You collect
annotated bibliography entries (5 sentences per entry) from all
WG
members. You share this list with the other WG's ambassadors for
bibliography. Together you are responsible for collecting, maintaining

You are the WG ambassador for evaluation. Your responsibility is
to
keep a discussion around evaluation going in your working
group. Evaluation is a key delivery of the action and you keep a focus
on how to evaluate
cases/systems/structures. Each group needs to
collect relevant cases and then define strategies and protocols for
evaluation, noting the issues, cases,
bench marks, etc. You share
these with the other WG evaluation ambassadors and keep a record on
the website. You select a chair amongst the four of you.
